US District Court Judge ORDERS
that Amazon.com directly and vicariously infringed the Hendrickson
copyright in connection with the illegal distribution of
counterfeit MANSON DVDs. May 9, 2003 Central District Court
of California.
This may be the most important
Court decision ever "for copyright owners" to be handed down
regarding the internet/copyright infringement controversy. The
Honorable Judge Terry J. Hatter Jr. has finally restored a sense
of reason and justice to the copyright infringement "free-for-all"
frenzy that has, for too long, infected the entire internet. I am
extremely pleased that the creative community may now feel more
secure, like other Americans, that the fruits of their labor may
not be exploited by others without just compensation.
