Just
a couple of weeks after our October 27th UPDATE revealing that Ruben
Salazar's killers may have been caught on film, the F.B.I. finally released
documents relating to the tragedy (Re: Los Angeles Times article dated
November 18,1999). Although "the Times" has been trying
for years to obtain the related documents, via the Freedom of Information
Act, it surely must be only a coincidence that another Dark Chapter
in American History suddenly begins to unfold (after thirty years).
One bizarre aspect of the now infamous "East Side Riots" is
that no "news" cameras were present during the carnage. Not
because newsmen took the day off, but because they all left when the
peaceful anti-war march and rally showed no signs of any possible "action".
Fortunately, that fateful day was recorded on film (35mm color motion
picture film), but for thirty years the filmmakers thought that the
film was underexposed and worthless. This is because the black and white workprint made from the original negative was a poor quality "dirty
dupe, revealing little. Further, there was no reason to question the
quality of the printing process, because at the time of filming Leo
and I were dodging rocks, bottles and two by sixes ripped from bus benches
leaving us to conclude that the exposure aperture was knocked out of
whack. Hence, for thirty years another dark secret has laid hidden in
a cold vault.
When it came to
transferring this original negative some months ago, this time, I even
noted for the film restorer to try and save any images that might
exist. To our great surprise, all of the negative was almost perfect
and with digital enhancement we have discovered some shocking results.
Thus we have dedicated five minutes of never before seen film of the
"East Side Riots", to be sequentially incorporated into "The Legend of
Charles Manson".
Not to diminish
the tragedy of Ruben Salazar's death, but as you will see, it pales in
significance compared to the character assassination of the thousands
of Mexican Americans who stood to be counted as some of this nation's
finest. You will witness a proud and united people stand for Justice
and an end to an insane war, only to be beaten down (literally) by the
hands of government "peace" officers.
I mention this
true story, not only because it has become newsworthy again, but because
we want everyone to understand just what "The Exclusive Film Network"
is all about. It's about truth wherever the chips may fall and ensuring
that interested people have access to it. Additionally, now you can
see that "The Legend of Charles Manson" will not be just
about Manson, but the entire times (the late 60's & early 70's),
thus you will finally better understand the Manson phenomenon.
Sometime soon we will begin dealing
with the Ronnie Howard affair and that issue will surely create new
meaning to the term "LAPD Scandal".
